Monitoring Service

We offer a monitoring service, which can range from basic repeated site visits, through to more technical remote monitoring.

Remote monitoring has become the most cost effective solution to long term monitoring requirements.  Data containing readings of the moisture content of timbers, humidity levels and other information can be remotely monitored by placing sensors in ‘at risk areas’, which transmit the data to our offsite computer.  These sensors can be set at predetermined intervals, specific to each situation and alert us should environmental conditions conspire to put elements of the property at risk.  The data can be analysed over a predetermined period, which is beneficial because a single site visit only offers a ‘snapshot’ of conditions during that visit.

Scenarios

Remote monitoring can prove economical when repeated site visits would normally be necessary, such as during a dry rot outbreak.  The success of remedial repairs undertaken after the dry rot was diagnosed, can be analysed to confirm that the remediation have been successful.

Similarly, remote monitoring is invaluable when analysing environmental conditions responsible for condensation problems.  Whole properties can be monitored to assess the condensation source and the impact it has on other areas under observation.

After fire or flood damage, remote monitoring is the chosen procedure when monitoring the drying of the building.  It is vital that the drying of the building is achieved in a controlled manner, not hurried or delayed.  Therefore, the data supplied by the remote monitoring instrumentation enables drying to be appropriately managed.
